HUMANITARIAN CARE FOUNDATION educates families on how to cultivate and consume healthy, nourishing foods. Additionally, we collaborate with schools, health centers, and businesses to enhance the accessibility and affordability of nutritious food.
HUMANITARIAN CARE FOUNDATION aims to enhance nutrition for women, children, and families by concentrating on a crucial indicator of progress: the reduction of stunting in young children. Stunting results from inadequate nutrition and health during a child's first 1000 days, from conception until their second birthday. Since it cannot be reversed, prevention is essential.
To promote good nutrition, HUMANITARIAN CARE FOUNDATION employs both comprehensive and targeted strategies. Our initiatives bolster food, health, and support systems. We also engage directly with families to assist them in adopting healthy practices at home, which include improved feeding, hygiene, and caregiving routines.
Our primary strategy is known as Collective Impact for Nutrition. Drawing on a decade of experience across various countries, this model integrates support from diverse communities and systems with direct behavior change tactics. It is based on the Lancet nutrition interventions and is designed to empower families not only to adopt healthier nutrition habits but also to ensure they have the resources necessary to implement those habits effectively.
